As long as you don't leave it sitting on the passenger seat, leave them a note or somehow otherwise communicate to them you are using a programmer they will not be able to tell one has been in play as long as you reset things to stock.

If it ain't broke don't fix it, updates can hurt you bad if they aren't fully tested in a development system first, or the file might be corrupted over the net (missing packets etc.).
This is car, not a laptop that can be re-installed on a Saturday night in just a few hours.
Use caution when it comes to updates of any kind, ask yourself these 3 questions...
Do I need it?
Do I really want it?
Can I live without it?
I speak this from experience, I test software updates for a living and have paid the price for installing updates that haven't been fully tested when I thought they where.
Use extreme caution.
I have the Hypertech PP myself and it works great, bone-stock.

I would tend to agree with you..... however I had the problem with not being able to return to stock before it was even updated so I figured I didnt have anything to loose. Of course the update didnt work. I hope someone figures this out. I dont understand why there is not a way to reset the hypertech firmware without sending stuff back. You would also think that they would have "images" of various stock setups that they could match to yours if you had to reprogram back to stock. I know quite a bit about regular computers but still trying to figure out the ins and outs of these newer car computers.
