Question Hypertech's problem

I got my Hypertech programmer few days ago, and turned my 07 Wrangler JK immediately. I changed cooling fan tem to 185F with stock thermostat. Then the cooling fan always works when I start the engine, I think it's not correct. Today when I turned my JK to stock setting, I found a problem. Hypertech said I turned my JK to stock setting successfully, but the turner status in update software says my jk isn’t in stock setting, the VIN still shows up....... Dose anyone can tell me What status my programmer is? And what should I do to solve this problem before taking the vehicle in for service? Thank!!!!!

First of all it's a bad idea to have your thermostat setting with a programmer lower than the hardware. Fan on temperature should 20 degrees higher than when your thermostat opens. Without the proper settings you can pull CELs and DTCs. Early fan on temperatures also don't do you any good as you aren't cooling water that's moving through your engine. With a closed thermostat your spinning your fan without purpose on unheated fluid.

What I would do in your situation is install a tune with the appropriate t-stat settings. If there are any DTCs it's not going to let you do it, so as part of the process you'll need to clear them. After installing a tune with the appropriate t-stat settings, return to stock. That should get you good to go for a trip to the dealer.

I'm trying my best not to go there, but I agree.

That's exactly what I did. Well.... actually I sold mine on Ebay and got the SC for only $40 out of pocket! My only complaint with the SC is the shifting. Revs too high before shifting to next gear. But it is better than Hypertech I believe!

Interesting. I would update the programmer and try it again. I've never have had any issues with my Hypertech programmer.

I agree! I'm actually very pleased with my Hypertech. I've had no issues with it and the performance I have out of that V6 is very noticable!
