Default I really need your advice...

I’m looking to buy 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara, and I would like to lift it right the way. I newer own Jeep before or any other lifted truck, that’s why I’m looking for the advice.
I want to install 3.5" lift and 35” wheels. Somebody recommended me to go with 3.5 Inch Super-Flex Short Arm Lift Kit, what are your thoughts on it? Do I have to replace drive shaft with that lift? How hard to install this lift on your own? Is there is any alternatives in the same price range?
Mainly I'll be driving freeways and I'll be doing so over landing 3 or 4 times a year.

Do you wheel or is this a just for street? Highly recommend to keep it stock for at least 6 months to a year to figure things out. One major advantage for this is you learn how to pick lines and understand your jeep.

You don't need a lift to be capable. You'll know after backing out of a situation a few times whether a lift would have helped or not.
For now, save your money and take the family out to Dairy Queen. Yah really. A lift is not a must do thing.
Is there any chance that the guy that said you need one is the same dude you'll be paying for it?

Default not saying you dont want a lifted jeep

but there are plenty of those who dont need one, yes maybe they look nice as to a lower one. I have not found the need for a lift. Its really up to the owner and his or her main use . For me it seems over kill for my need or where i go on or off street.
Its not a money issue its the fact that my jeep does what i need it to, why add something that wont really benifit me or might even hinder in some cases.

as some one already posted , drive it as is for 6 months or so and see if you still want it .
lifts arnt for everyone . ive had lifted vehicles and yeh they look good
but over all never really made me go anywhere i couldnt go with out it.
If you plan to play in big rocks , Thats a different ball game. Thats my opinion But you did claim( you wanted)
drive shaft would need to be replaced as well , with a higher lift in that degree. Installation is up to you depending if you have the tools and know how to wrench well enough , have the time to do it, making adjustments on your track bar . centering the wheel & other adjustments.
All those things will need to be adressed before you dive in . rather than finding out mid stream your in to deep .

Some have done it right the first time and some, well, learned their lesson... I highly recommend reading the sticky that thedirtman posted under modified section... Bottom line is I would first understand what I am going to use my jeep for. Mostly DD and maybe 5 % off-road? With the new jeeps on 35s you don't have to lift it much at all unless you are going to do some serious off-roading. Take your time and drive your jeep, read all the threads about lifts, and then do what you want or need. Good luck!

If 35's is the tire size you're set on, look into getting a 2.5" Budget Boost until you decide what you really want to do.

Thank you guys for your the reply. As I mention earlier, I'll be driving most of the time on the street. The reason I want to lift it is because I really like that aggressive look. When I look at the stock Jeep it feels for me that something is missing. What is the reason that most of you guy recommending ti keep it stock, just to save money, or there is some disadvantage?

Default dis advantages

could be a lot of things to one person and minor to another . Costs can have a effect on some not on others.
but if your set on a lift get the lift . some lifts will effect it . Again read up . you most likely will never get your stock ride back . but some will argue that theory. it will effect your gas mileage , handling on road,
its not that anyone is telling you not to lift it, just more that you should read up before you make mistakes that you may or may not feel was necessary to do to your stock or lightly modified version for the same result.
lots of people drive down the road in a lifted jeep and feel money was well spent for the look alone
others don't really like the look of a lift on their jeep , I happen to like my jeep lower over a lift. im not into pulling myself up into one anymore either lol if you do go with one get a quality one. research it. some lifts can raise hell with the ride including death wobble if not done right . Others love it on 37 inch tires
