i want to lift my jeep a little
 

I have a jeep 2009 wrangler 2 door. I want to put a mid size lift with 35 tires on. I will mainly be driving on roads, a little off road not much. what is the best lift with not having any problems with gears fuel wobble and handling

Manual or automatic transmission? If you have a manual you can get buy a little better without regearing. Automatic...not so much assuming you have 3.21 gears. As far as lift, you don't actually need a lift to run 35's...especially if you're not going off-roading. Pick you up a set of cheap flat fenders or do the fender chop mod, and get 1.25" to 2" wheel spacers and you should be fine. I do some light to moderate wheeling on a stock height JKU with 35's and flat fenders and only barely rub at full articulation.

lifts have nothing to do with gears, thats all tire size. If you have a manual rubicon you should be ok but anything else you really want to re-gear. Flat fenders are one way to do it with no lift and the easiest way. Gives you the look of a 4" lift without sacrificing handling. Otherwise a simple 2" coil spacer lift will do the job. IF you are buying new wheels make sure you get them with 4.5" of back spacing. I would recommend a 17" wheel with 8.5"-9" width.

A set of stiff JKU springs (17/58) should net you close to 2" of lift.....with flat fenders you should have plenty of room for 35's
19/60 springs may even give 2.5" if you can source a set.

Small coil spacer is gonna be the easiest route, and assure you're not guessing at how much lift you may or may not get from a new spring. Add shock extension or new shocks if necessary. Wobbles aren't caused by lifts, they're caused by worn joints and loose bolts. Even stock wranglers run in to these issues, so just keep that in mind since you have an older jeep, most likely with some miles on it. With 3.8L and factory gearing, 35's would be the big thing you should ponder. There's no getting around the fact 35 gonna turn 3.8L in to a turtle unless you have 4.10s and manual tranny. Maybe consider 33s instead.

I'm running Teraflex 2.5 lift with 35's. Its a Rubicon manual so I have 4.10 gears, it was a noticeable decrease in power on the top end, like in 6th gear its a little boggy but really its not to bad. There isnt many highways up here in Alaska, top speed on any road is 65. When I make the move to 37's I'm going to re-gear to 4.88.

I went from 14/55 to 18/59 with a TF leveling kit. Now I am running 2" EVO coils with 9000's and love it. I would suggest that or the Rancho 2". Just pay attention to bumps. I'm running 295's.
