yes please please make sure your jeep is securely on jackstands before doinany work to it...... not bein preachy or anything jus sayin saw a video last. nite of a guy replacing his front axle while his jeep was on a jackstand which was sitting on top of an old looking galvenized tub made me cringe
In the Instructions, all it says for the front is to jack up, set jack stands, unbolt shocks, unbolt sway bar and lower axle till you can take out springs... Is that really it for the front?
Rear say the same thing except to undo the breakline bolts..

Make sure you loosen your control arms and track bars a little and don't torque them back again until you are finished and back on the ground with all the weight on the tires. Make sure you get the correct torque amount for each.
While you are under there, check the bolt holes on the front track bar and, if you aren't replacing the bar, at least get a couple grade 8, 9/16 x 3" bolts to replace the stock ones with. Death wobble is not fun!

All good info. Make sure you have some tall beefy jack stands. When we did mine we had to run to tractor supply to pick up a set. Nothing pisses you off more than having to go buy parts in the middle of a job.

Shoot A LOT of wd40 on ALL of the nuts and bolts that youll be removing tonight. 'Penitrating oil' works better when you give it time to PENITRATE!!! If you dont own jack stands- DONT get the 3 or 4 ton jacks. DO GET the 6 ton jacks-not because of weight but because their max height is nice to have when your istalling your lift. Mostly at the time when you lower your axle to take out the springs. BUY 18,19,and 21mm wrenches-25$ I wish I spent before i put my lift on-trust me. Remember not to tighten everything down UNTIL the jeep has been lowered and on its own weight.
I just did half of my rc 2.5 lift a few hours ago, other half tommorow. Used two jacks and a jack stand for for safety. One to lift the frame enough to lift the tire. Then one under the axle to lift the axle and tire. Remove shock bolts, remove swing arm link bolts, remove brake support bolt. Lower axle. Remove shock, remove spring. Then replace shock. Replace spring (the hardest part), tighten bolts. Don't forget about brake support. Then raise axle install tire. Cry because your back hurt.. 3 more to go. I chose to do only the fronts today.
