Intake & rain

Has anyone driven for extended periods in the rain with an aftermarket cold air intake installed?

A concern for me, especially the ones with open boxes, is they're really open & unbaffled to the front. Would driving for 2 hours in heavy rain allow so much water/mist to come through that it would over-dampen the element filter & not allow enough air to pass into the intake?

Just curious....

I have driven for hours with a SNORKLE :rotflmao1: and the filter was fine.

Beautiful...thanks for the replies. I think an Airaid is in my future. They're made 15 minutes from my house.

Despite the high amount of moisture in the air, I would think the heavy airflow would keep the element dry at all times except submerssion.
