Default Jeep 5.3 Install Issues - Tach

Had a local builder install a 5.3 GM engine/tran and transfer case in my wifes 07 Sahara. I was trying to avoid an aftermarket tach however he cant get the tach to respond. He's modified the tone ring and worked with crank sensor but still no luck.

Also I wanted a very stock install and he couldnt get the ignition to work and installed push button start. I really want to correct these issues and have it be a factory type install.

Anyone with experience with this that could suggest something? There are no Jeep experts or performance shops in the area with any real experience.

Also the daytime running lights dont work now, not critical but it is a requirement in Canada.

You could try to test it on another engine to make sure that it's functioning properly in the first place.
