Jeep darting randomly
I have looked through old post trying to find an answer to.my problem but still can't figure it out. At lower speeds (50 or below) my jk darts to one side or the other randomly. It's arrow straight at higher speeds. It started after I replaced everything on the jeep steering wise. I have just put a psc big bore, cavfab 1 ton steering, bilsten stabilizer, ball joint deletes and moog hubs on. I have checked the control arms and track bar, they appear to be fine. I want to say it's my cheap tires and I just could tell it before because the steering was so bad. Any help is appreciated.
Welcome .. Have to refer your issues to someone that is running that or similar setup.. Only question was it doing that before all your upgrades with the same tires? What's your CASTER #s and TOE?
I honestly can't say if it was doing it beforehand or not. The old steering box had a ton of play and all the steering joints were shot. It was all over the road all the time. Thats the reason I just replaced everything at once. Caster is around 6 and the toe I'm not sure of. I got it close, then took it to a shop for an alignment.
I put a PSC Big Bore XDII steering box in mine back in 2021 and had somewhat similar problems you are describing. I recently upgraded the high pressure pump, high pressure hose, reservoir, etc. this past November and it seemed to take care of the problem. I have NOT had a hydraulic ram installed on the axel yet. I think it had to do with the factory steering pump not being able to keep up proper pressure to the steering box at times. I don't know for sure that this would be what you need to do to fix your problem since you also did bj deletes on yours as well. I have no experience with bj deletes.
That gives me a new starting point at least that I had not even thought about. I don't think it's the bj deletes.....or maybe I just don't want it to be the deletes but they were next on my radar after tires.
Welcome from GA! I have never had a problem like that but I wonder since it is random and at lower speeds are you sure there is not a loose bolt somewhere and maybe you are hitting a hole or something causing a movement. Just a thought.
