JK Spacer Lift Kit Recommendations, please.
 

I just purchased a 2010 Wrangler Unlimited Sport (Joy!) and now the upgrades begin.

Can someone please recommend a budget 2” or 2 1/2” spacer lift kit. I’m looking for something inexpensive that won’t change the ride of the Jeep, but still give some lift. I’m not planning on doing any hard-core off road driving, but beaches and trails will be frequently visited.

There seem to be a lot of choices in the $120-$180 range. I think I’m in the market for one of them, unless someone can talk me out of it.

Any recommendations? Are they all about the same? I see that Skyjacker, Zone, Rough Country, Rock Krawler, Daystar, Black Diamond, Rubicon Express, etc…They all make them and I can’t tell the difference.

Just so you know the ride will change some with spacers. Due to increase angles in which the control arms are not working. I have the Rough Country spacers on mine.

Goodys ; I have been running on my 2.5" lift for 200km now and do not notice a difference from the stock ride. Is yours a Rubi with stock suspension?

I installed the Full Traction 2" spacer kit. Not too much difference in the ride really, but I would definitely suggest doing shocks that accommodate the lift at the same time. Better ride quality and better off road performance. I didn't replace them when I did the lift and now wish that I had. That's next on my list.

Hey are you running that lift/spacer combo on stock wheels and tires? If so, do you have any pics of it? I'm running the Spidertrax spacers on mine, but its at stock height. Just wondering what it looks like since we have the same ride...

Yes I have stock Rubi suspension with 2.5" coil spacers. I do pay a lot of attention to how things run on my vehicles, comes with being a tech for a living. I will say that I have no doubt my ride quality did change with 2.5" coil spacers and keeping the factory shocks. I also noticed a difference from my C load rated stock tires, to my D rated 35s. I still rides 'well', but it did change. I've put 15000 miles on it and countless (hard) trails on it, holding up well.

I have stock wheels, but 35s on them. I ran the stock tires for a short period, hated the look.

The Teraflex spacers are probably the most popular of all.

I just installed the tera flex 2" leveling kit. Lifts the front 2" and the rear 1". Elimating the factory rake. I like it a LOT.

TeraFlex states you can run up to a 34" tire with this set up, may require wheel spacers to move the wheels out a bit.

Looks good with the factory 32" tires. Rides well, can barely tell that any ride changed.

Comes with longer front sway bar links that are greasable and can be upgraded to be "quick disconnects" if you want to.

I got it from 4 wheel hardware.

For a few more bucks i would go with the Series II kit. I have it sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. It just seemed like a more complete kit. I got it with shock extensions but think i'm going to get some long travel shocks. I'm not sure so don't quote me on this but i think you get the track bar relocation bracket, shock extension brackets, longer sway bar links and the spacers. I have yet to install it because now i'm looking into the Rock Krawler 2.5" coil kit.
