Last lift question....
1 Attachment(s)
So I got my lift kit installed (4" Zone Offroad) my alignment done, some adjustable ball joints, yada, yada, yada.
The question is that when I turn my wheel all the way or sharp at a slow speed you can hear a squeak. Not squealing noise just like old bed spring squekyness... Is that common? Does the lift need to be "broken in"? Any help is appreciated. |

I was just wondering if the Squeek noise the OP,
(areeves65) is hearing is the wheels on the pavement or are you certain it's coming from the suspension? I see your parked on gravel. do you hear the sound when your on any other surface other than pavement? I'm not too keen on using WD-40 on all the rubber parts, as it may cause the rubber parts to deteriorate more quickly....Rubber and oil don't work well together. As for the tightening of all the bolts while they have no load on them, this is something to be concerned about. Once the vehicle is back on the ground and there is a load on all the moving parts, the bolts that were tightened to specs may now be Over-tightened with a load on them. The "noise" you are hearing could be an indicator that some -thing is "pinching" now when it wasn't when it was hanging from a lift before. Just My : 2cents : Hope this Helps. |
While turning, are you against the steering stops? If so that's your power steering.Next would be your axle u-joints

Another question is did the kit come with polyurethane bushings? They do tend to squeak. But I like the question about the tires cause new tired can make a squeaky noise, and I too would check out the bolts. Really there are lots of things that could cause your noise have a buddy help you check it out walking beside your jeep at slow speeds in a parking lot to try to isolate it. Good luck and let us know.

They ended up taking it all off re greasing all the polyurethane bushings and slapped the thing back together. Has been just fine ever since. Thanks for the help everyone. I'm still in the process of trying to make it a better lift.. Adding control arms etc. soon.
