let's talk softest riding shock. ..

Ok guys,

Obviously this is very biased and will vary alot, but what is the consensus on softest without the boat feel.

1. OME
2. Fox IFP
3. Bilstein 5100

I found the 5100s to be a bit softer than the 5 year old OME's they replaced. (Which seems to be the opposite of what most other people report...) :D

Open a few of the long, long threads on the Rancho 9000?

I have the Rancho RS9000XL 9 pt adj and just playing with the different adjustment points and deff notice a difference

Been there man....it's crazy how you can get a complete 50/50 split on shock opinion. You'd think it'd be more black and white...soft is soft and stiff is stiff. Assuming coils remained the same.

Thought about the 5100's but like you said...so many completely opposite opinions.

Time to man up and pick one...lol

My 5100s are cushy soft, yet they do a great job of keeping the springs under control and our butts in the seats. These 5100s were valved by AEV to match AEV springs, and my JK is heavy - 4900 lbs without a driver.

Its hard to make an apples-to-apples shock comparison.

Wonder how they feel under a relatively lite Jeep

Anyone try the Poly shocks? I would assume they are great considering the quality of all their products

I've only run OME on both my jeeps. They compress super easy when off the jeep - almost effortless compared to the rubicon shocks. Lots of rebound dampening though.
