Default Lift Advice - Newbie

Ok, I know there are other posts on this topic, but I want to make sure I'm clear on all of this before I go to buy something. I'm looking for 2" to 2.5" of lift to put on some 33's mainly just for a more aggressive look. Most of my 4 wheeling will be on the beach anyways.

So I've never done a lift, but have friends that have, I'm looking for the simplest lift that will keep a factory ride without having to replace a lot of parts. I have seen the Teraflex 2.5 BB offered a lot, and the Rough Country 2" lift. The RC is on sale right now at $135, would I need anything else with this lift?

It looks like from the directions that the RC lift is much simpler than the write up on the Teraflex 2.5 BB.

Any thoughts?

Realistically you could run 33" tires without a lift. But a 2 or 2.5" lift would look good and give it a nice stance. If you get a spacer lift, meaning the pucks that you add above the factory springs and keep the factory shocks, your ride won't change much if any.

I had the Rubicon Express 2in BB on my JK, great shocks with it also. Front gives you 2.5 and rear is 1 3/4in. Levels the rake out with stock bumpers and is IMO the perfect setup for you with 33's w/ stock bumpers. A guy I know has this on his rig and it looks great. I ran it with 35's and it rubbed abit off-road . 33's should be no problem with any rubbing, at least he didn't have any.TeraFlex is great aswell , but you'll still have the forward rake.

That's what I was looking for, so I won't need to do any other mods other than the spacers?

You'll either need longer shocks or the shock extensions with 2 or 2.5 in spacers. Also depending on the width of the 33, you will need wheel spacers or rims with 4.75 in bs or less.

I have to be perfectly honest here. I've seen people say the spacer lifts won't effect ride quality. I have to say I could tell a difference. I wouldn't say it's a huge difference...but I can definately tell it. So could my wife....AND my son and they rarely drive the Jeep. If I had it to do over again.....and I DO because I AM.....I would and AM going with Teraflex's 2.5" coil spring lift. Having had a spacer lift, I recommend a coil spring lift for two reasons. First, because it is the more correct way to lift. Secondly, because if you only go with a spacer lift, you'll always wonder how the coil lift would have worked. Just something to think about.

Agreed. Go with the coils. Avoid spacers! If possible get shock extensions and a front adjustable track bar.

X3 on the spacers, I had the RC BB than I changed to 3" coils. Try to lift the Jeep once instead of twice.
