lift question
i have a 2.5 tera flex lift right now but im kinda itching to go a little bigger maybe 3.5 or 4 in. is there anything else involved besides the lift? ive heard ppl running it with stock drive shafts and such?
If you disco the front end then I'm going to bet you'll need f-driveshaft. 2dr of 4? Other things.
-Shock extensions on stock? will need longer shocks
- Sway bar brackets from rear may not work in front anymore, need discos
- brake line extenstions.
I've been thinking about this too so these are just a few things.

So shocks will be $320 ish. Discos get JKS $140 ish, they are adjustable.. Brake line extensions guessing, $80. then the coils for the new lift height. Plus $450ish for f.Driveshaft. Not saying its a bad idea. Size matters, but it costs too.
I'm sure others will chime in too, perhaps just more spacers will work. But this is the thought process I'm going down. Maybe $$$ is not a problem. Gears for that money or CA's are on my list first.

I have Clayton 3.5" lift, 315's (34.5")- still running stock DS - all depends on how aggressive you are on how soon you tear the front stock boot.
Decided to run stock DS as long as possible after talking to Adam at Clayton.
I've flexed it out pretty good and no issues yet - but I know at some point I will tear the boot so I check it after every wheeling outing.
The stock trans skid plate will have to be modified to use it with the lift and stock DS other DS.
I searched and asked and based on information gathered from others who have used various skids, stock tranny skids are plenty strong and fine modified - save some $$$.
Depends on what type of wheeling you do and how aggressive you wheel, you will want to do a good assessment of what other protection you might need. After the lift I find myself being more daring than with stock...
next on my short list - diff covers, relocate Evap, more compact muffler - stock is too big a target...

You really should decide on tire size, not lift size. Then figure out how little lift you need to mount that tire size. Remember: Ground clearance is driven by tire size, not by lift (though there are some slight gains on approach and departure angles from a higher lift). And the higher CG of a taller lift is a negative if you drive anything steep. You can get away with a higher lift for a little while without doing all of the extras. But, eventually you're going to start slinging grease from a driveshaft (I've seen rears blow out twice, one two door in about two months, the other a four door in about three years). Then you will be buying a new driveshaft, as well as adjustable control arms so you can set the pinion angle properly.
BTW: If you're just building a mall crawler to impress pick-up truck drivers with ridiculous lifts, forget everything above. Lift it as high as you want and watch out for those speed bumps.

Just get a Tf spacer leveling kit put it on top of your coils and if you still want more go with a 1" body lift. I have the tf2.5" coil lift with spacers and its just fine. I might add a 1" body when I get new tires next week
