Which lift would you go with?

I have an 08 4dr Sahara with 3.73 gears as my DD and an 86 CJ7 with 6" lift and 35 MT's as my liftime toy :D

I have 1200 miles on the sahara and am already getting the big itch to change it's appearence. I am not sure if I will go with 33s, maybe an aggressive AT or 35's and eventually re-gear. Would like to stick with 33's for trips up the mountains with the wife and kids and running around on the highways.

Which lift would you go with with $$ kept in mind, but a qulity lift :)

2.5" Rough Country(with 2.2 shocks) OR Rusty's 2" Coil lift??? Keep ride quality in mind as well for DD...

Thanks

my 2 cents
Teraflex,1st rate suspension products(over 35,000km on my lift)and unbelievable customer service/product support
also I have found out the hard way there is no such thing as a really affordable, quality lift, leave it stock height or do it right

TERAFLEX 3"spring kit.Teraflex lower flexarms.stock front upper arms(untill the bushings pop, probably any day!!)and 10.3"travel front shocks, flexes good and really nice on the highway(much better than stock!!!)also after 3"teraflex spring kit installed no rake!!!!!my rock rails sit damn near level!!!!!even with winch+bumper,no noticable spring sag after 35,000km on lift
sweet ride,nice and smooth

I stated this in a differnet post. If your going to add a differnt bumper front or rear, and add a winch. Please go the TF 2.5 coil lift. you'll be very happy...

Thanks for the help guys  any words from anyone with a RC lift or Rusty's 2"?

BaltChief 08-28-2008 06:27 AM

I have the Rusty's 2" coil lift and love it.....but if I were doing it today I would consider the new Teraflex coils....they were not available when I did mine.

Mine's a DD as well and I decided on the Teraflex 2.5" coils (replacing my 2.5" spacers). Will be adding 33's too.

BTW - BaltChief your JK looks awesome  A bit different than when I saw it at Rausch in January.

Baltchief...Jeep looks Great  How is the ride?

I am comparing the 2.5" TF Coil kit with there shocks at around $600+ to the Rustys 2" Coil lift with there shocks for $350  I also here that the Rusty's kit gives you actually arounf 3" of lift...:dontknow2:

Love my Teraflex 2.5 coil/shock combo, the ride quality is better than stock and I didn't have to upgrade any drivetrain. The actual ride height comes out to about 3", so when you add bumpers, winches, etc it lowers the height down to 2.5. Not to mention Joe has been very helpful throughout my install, before and after, can't beat the support they offer.
