Default Limit straps

I have a 2010 Rubi with a RK 2 1/2" lift and have decided to add limit straps to eliminate any chance of my sway bar flipping when using my e-disco. I am currently thinking of attaching to the swaybar where the links bolt on and of course to the frame at the other end. Knowing that there are some people on here with a lot more knowledge about such things I figured I'd ask will this work ok or is there an advantage to running frame to axle instead? And for those running limit straps will 2ply work or do I need 4ply?

I use the poly performance quad limit straps, they are like $20 each. Ruffstuff makes a good weld on tab.

Honestly though, the real way to solve this problem would be to get rid of the electronic disconnect.

As far as connections, it really doesnt matter, Mine are welded to the top of the axle, and the bottom of the frame. My pictures may or may not help much.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like a good set up I'll check out the poly straps.

Thanks I saw those the price isn't bad. I was wondering how the length worked out since they only come in one length. Glad to hear someone who has them chime in on the fit.

Yea you are going to want to get the length right. 1 inch too short is going to be a big deal. Get the tabs welded on and then use an RTI ramp to measure and get it perfect, then make your order. Also, pick a spot that they can more or less "hinge" in the same direction every time the suspension collapses without getting into anything. The first picture I posted shows this. When my suspension is fully compressed, the limit strap tabs are horizontally directly next to each other. You have a lot of options. You can even weld the lower tab to your LCA if that works for you.

Ideally, you want the straps mimicking your shock, if that makes sense. You want them pulling in the same line that your shock makes as it cycles. This is better for strength of the mounting tabs as they arent being pulled at an angle.

Why spend the money on limit straps? Why not just get the proper length sway bar links? I run limit straps on my rear suspension, but only to keep the driveshaft ujoints from binding.

I have longer links on and I don't think they will flip over. Limit straps are cheap and then I would know they won't flip over. Besides my brakes lines and wheel sensor wires are pretty close to being limit straps at the moment and the straps would also help keep from tearing them up.

I just think it'd be better to use the wheel travel you have rather than limiting it. You can unclip the wheel speed sensor harness and it won't be a problem. I get 14" of vertical wheel travel and they are long enough without extending them. Longer brake lines and proper length links would be the best way to do it. Limit straps would indeed be the cheap way to do it.
