Limiting straps run between your frame and axles and prevent the axles from over-drooping which could cause your coils to pop out. Im not 100 percent on this but i think teraflex makes some limiting straps

yeah i found a bunch of them on 4wd product web sites. Are they a good investment do i need them? Do most people put them on after lifting their jk?

I think RK make retaining clips for their springs too.

I personally would just get coil retaining clips, as opposed to the straps, so i can maximize droop without losing a coil. Just like the name implies, the straps limit articulation. You usually dont need them if you have the right shocks to go along with your lift.

That won't necessarily apply to everyone though. It depends on what shocks you are running and what their extended length is since shocks are what limit your droop.

Out of curiosity, what shocks are you running?

I think the percentage of JKs that run limiting straps with 3"+ lifts is less than 1/2 a percent...

You absolutley do not want your shocks to be the limiting factor. You are supposed size your shock so that when the suspension is fully compressed (on the bumpstops)the shock itself still has room to compress and in full flex the shock is not fully extended taking the stress and weight of the suspension. thats where limiting straps do help as well.
