How is the grizzley as far as "clicking" on and off road?

I would think you'd be good to go with a Detroit locker in rear. Very dependable, and tuff. Not to spendy ,

The OP said he didn't want to spend $1,000

thats going to be tough to do lockers, and it's a shame to be in there and to not regear...

I have a manual trans so occasionally it clunks as it locks or unlocks. Takes a little getting used to because the first time it happened it sounded like something broke. Otherwise only other time it clicks is when maneuvering through a tight parking lot, you get a little click, click as it rotates. Most of the time I don't even notice it. Otherwise it is quiet.

I put a lunch box locker in my Cherokee, and it was a waste of money. Yes it did work off-road, but on-road was really bad. Torque Steer, and really LOUD banging. Took it out, and it looked brand new.
I put in a Auburn LSD, and couldn't be happier. I trashed the No-Slip.
For my JK I am going to install an E-Locker, when I regear to 4.56 for 35s.

well then you dont want a locker thats locked all the time. Personally when my rubi e locker goes in going to run a Detroit. My dad has one in his TJ and it works amazing then a arb air locker in the front so the front doesnt move around

I talked to a rep from Eaton and he suggested that I continue to run my truetrac in the rear so that it helps in everyday driving, snow and ice, and moderate wheeling. And lock the front with a selectable elocker which normally remains an open differential untill I need a bit more traction. I feel that the front locker would be great to help me climb onto stuff (rocks) or pull me out enough (mud)for my truetrac to find traction again.

You might want to research your replacement locker options for the JK rubicon axles, Detroits are not one of the few.
