I cant decide which way I want to go, I like how beefy the EVO looks and the whole minimalism of no rear bumper plus I need to add rear skins
on my JK anyway (tree vs jk=tree won). But then I also like the number of options a person has with the LOD tire carrier, that and I don't think
my wife will like opening the EVO after shopping (just to be clear, she doesn't get an opinion, although it is her daily driver) Anyway I thought I was sold on the EVO but now just looking for some second opinions.

As long as you don't plan to run a 40x1550 tire on atx slabs then the LOD is a good option. Personally if I didn't have the poison spider skins then hands down id have the EVO already. I recently had to apply tie downs to stop the back and forth movement the tire was doing. So bad you can feel it push the jeep back an forth while driving. It's temporary until I find a better solution.

Also.. Due to the design of the carrier. It requires extensive tightening of the wheel to the carrier. In efforts to make it as tight as possible as recommended ... I sheared the two lower studs. Luckily I had a replacement piece sent by accident from LOD

Well I Just put 37x13.5 TOYO RT's on Chamber pros, I'm sure I wont be going bigger any time soon but I said that about the 35's too
Anybody with the EVO have issues with putting fuel or storage on the tubing?

Those would work really well with the LOD. My previous setup of toyo 40x1350 on 17x8.5 trail readys worked great as well. They weighed in at 141lbs a piece. Idk where my current setup weighs between. 175-185lbs est. it's just enough with the width of my setup to be to much to handle

Goodie "EVO tire carrier" and tons will come up. I too am toying with idea of getting the EVO setup. But not sure I wanna do any cutting

You really can't go wrong with this carrier. It's really strong, well built and designed to take a beating. I've had zero issues. Spare has stayed nice and tight without even touching it in over a year.

I really like your set up, real similar to the direction I want to go. How do you like not having flares on the rear? I'm just not sure about that look. Did you go with steel or aluminum skins? Thanks

I bought the evo because I love the look and wanted something I could absolutely punish. I have slammed into many rocks, trees and it just keeps taking it. Not the easiest to open but a small price to pay.
