Lunch Box Locker ?

Considering Lunch Box Locker for 2016 JKU with Open Dana 44 New Gen REAR... Your thoughts and / or experiences are requested.. Thanks.

I don't think I'd put a lunch box in the rear unless it's a dedicated trail rig. Wheel spin/slippage while driving on snow or ice or even gravel could cause it to engage sending you off in an unpredictable direction.

Haven't seen a lot of feedback on the rear Aussie, other than the usual 'auto-locker' type behavior. Cora at Aussie has a few comments that may interest you.

A locked rear is a nightmare to drive in snow or ice.

Seems like you're typically better off with something like a True Trac in back and a lunchbox upfront combo. I agree with above....I wouldn't put a lunchbox in the rear myself. Selectable or LSD.

I installed an Aussie in my rear D44 (2010 JKU) after asking a lot of questions by email with them. I did get to drive it on a little bit of snow and didn't have any problems. I will say my first car was a big block chevy with a posi in the rear. I drove that thing in all weather including snow and it is not impossible to manage a locker on snow and ice. I have talked to people and that have had front lockers or trurtrac and they didn't like them on snow or ice. Contact Aussie and let them know what you have and how you will drive it. They will be able to help you decide. Other than some clicking it is no problem after the initial break in miles. I love it off road.
