Question Magnetic drain plug

Could someone please tell me where to get a magnetic oil drain plug and if they are worth using? I've seen people mention them on threads but not where they got it? I did an internet search but didn't come up with anything. Thanks for the help!

I second that! Where can a person buy a magnetic oil drain plug for the JK. GM has been using them in there trucks for some time now, and I would like to get one for my JK. Does anyone know if there is a cross reference GM plug that fits the JK oil pan? Thanks!

Your bearings are babbitt/copper, and the pistons aluminum, all of which are non magnetic. If you have magnetic particles you already have severe damage.
Spend your money on good oil and filters.

I already do that. But I remember from years ago from off roading, that even Volkswagens used magnetic plugs. And yes I know the Volkswagen (Bug) did not even use an oil filter. But the magnetic oil plugs in the sump they used worked great just the same.

Umm are you looking to trap metal shavings? because from what I understand those plugs are just used to let you know if theres excessive wear happening to your engine. Its not meant to clean the oil. Your best bet is to use a good quality oil preferably synthetic and a good oil filter.

I'll be running Mobil 1 after 3k with Fram HD filter. I figured if the plug holds on to more shavings, bonus, but also to gauge if there is a lot building up.

Thanks much!
