I'm going to make some sliders in the next couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone knows the best place to get the materials from??

Check your local phone listings for steel or farm supply. There's a few places online too

Around here we have a scrap yard that keeps all raw steel tubing and plating etc separate from the pile. I buy whatever I need there by the scrap per lb price and not retail. Pennies on the dollar.

Find a local welding shop. Mine will order anything I want. Cash also helps

X2 for a scrap dealer. I tend to pay around $0.60 / pound that way. Much cheaper than retail.

Stay away from the online places you will pay 3 times the market price with them. Also, always ask for "drops" versus cut to size. Drops are discounted and no xut fee. Drops are what was left after another guy already paid a cut fee.
