The only difference I have been able to find is in the planetaries. It may be possible to buy new P-gears and swap ratio to the 4:1.

not trying to hijack the thread..but i am also wondering this. I found a localguy selling his rubi case but its a 6 speed and i have an auto. will it work? plug and play?

not personally. nothing to tell. I am still looking into it, although I am not sure a 4:1 is the best choice in this area.

I dunno if it was true, but some guy in xtreme tech a couple months ago claimed he had swapped in a rubi case from a different tranny and swore they were both the same even though someone else was claiming they were not. Do a fast search... you should be able to find the discussion.
