Exclamation Metal scraping rattle on 08 jk

Alright so i have had this issue for a few months now and its a freakin mystery noise. yes im aware that jeeps will always have the mystery noises but this is embarrassing to drive around in. I have this metal rattle/scraping noise coming from the front end of my jeep, here are some facts...

1. Noise only starts when engine is up to temp
2. Noise only happens when underload and accletering
3. It stops immediately if i take my foot of the gas during the rattle
4. Its more pronounced around 1500-2100 rpm, i also dont hear it after 45mph
5. Checked all heat shields and boot.. nothing loose or damaged.
6. It sounds like something spinning at times like an old metal desk fan thats kinda wobbly...

im at a freakin lose at what this could be so your guys thoughts on this matter would be fantastic..

Someone will know what I'm taking about.

Something to do with some exhaust welds maybe?

Look at the heat shield on the crossover pipe. It will look solid but probably is not. I put a hose clamp on each end and tightened it up - no more noise.

The tack welds may look and feel solid, don't believe 'em. If you have it re-tacked it will happen again so I've had the same 2 hose clamps under there for years.

If you have an aftermarket muffler that dumps out before the rear axle check to make sure that it is not contacting the frame. Mines does this after I go wheeling. Just need to pry it back down in place.

As mentioned earlier it is the more than likely the heat shield on the exhaust pipe cross member. Use dome hose clamps to secure it.

This seems to be a problem with a lot of jeeps. If you install a new exhaust it could very well be a loose hanger
. I have had the same problem and I only hear it when I am accelerating sometimes, and also when i cruise at around 1000 rpm. Let me know if you fixed it. Thanks.

Mine seems to be my modified heat shield. Always works free after several trips.
