I don't do much rock crawling. I do mostly camping and light trails, but I wanted a great riding kit. I also think I can avoid a new DS just because I don't flex a ton. I really like how complete the kit is.

My 3.5 kit has been sitting in the garage now for over two weeks while I searched for wheels. Got wheels last weekend and was going to have a local shop do the kit, but after a couple of quotes, **** it - I'm going to put a couple of days to the side and do it myself.

That's the kit I got minus the shocks. What are you fine tuning? Bump stops?

i was adamant about doing it myself. my problem is, i am not really setup to do something like this. i am limited on space and i would need hundreds of dollars in tools. don't get me wrong, i love tools and have a lot but nothing really auto related. i also know, that if for some reason i did do it myself, i would still take it somewhere to have it all checked out and fine tuned. i figured it made sense to let someone else do what they do best to give me time to do what i do best.

The whole kit can be put on with a 10-21mm socket set and ratchet with the same size wrenches. The only other thing you would need is a big crescent wrench to lock the jam nuts on the arms. If you don't have these tools what is your plan for fixes on the trail?

I run the 3.5" coils and I can tell you the front shaft will go even without flexing. Mine started spitting grease 300miles after install. My buddy made it 500 miles on his 3.5" coils before his front shaft started making grinding noises.

It's not a matter of if but when. Going off road just speeds the problem up.

Well that sucks. I wonder if I should stick with the 2.5" and go flat fenders if I want to run 37's in future.

He's got a JK. Your avatar shows that you have a JKU. Yours will not go nearly as quick.
