Well that sucks. So these are strictly for bent C's? Does moog make replacement ball joints, or only adjustable ones?

They make replacements, but I have not seen any with a grease fitting for the JK yet.

So those are no better than OEM?

From a grease fitting perspective, no. I don't know how the quality compares.

Reminder:

I am still looking to get a set of old JK ball joints to see about making a tool to install grease fitting into installed OEM ball joints.
I need them to see how they are made and determine if grease would benefit them. Also, i want to be able to gage how deep to drill without damaging the ball.

So, if anyone has a set of old JK ball joints, I will pay the shipping to my house.

edit to add:

If you have adjustable control arms, you could install the offset ball joints for zero camber change, and bring the castor back to spec. with the adjustable control arms.

I've been researching this stuff the past day or two, and from what I can tell, the Moog K3134T upper, and the K3185 lower, both problem solvers, are normal, non offset, greasable ball joints. The Moog K100056 problem solver is a 0.5 degree offset +/- upper. Raybestos now makes 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2 degree offset +/- uppers, which appear to be greasable (in the pictures, anyway), and are part numbers 615-4000, 615-4001, 615-4002, and 615-4003, respectively. They make a 1.75 degree lower, also, part number 615-4012. Rock Auto online, referred to earlier in this thread, seems to have the best prices.

Hey all,
I'm getting ready to purchase moog ball joints for mine..
My question is, Do I need to get alignment specs first to determine if I need adjustable or not?

Thanks!

Napa has a sweet set of greasable ball joints for our jeeps. Only issue is a little on the pricy side. I would just go with a full set of alloy USA joints.

Thanks Kojack, but I'm more interested in knowing if I need to check my specs first before replacing.

The only thing you can really check with an alignment is your camber. If you find that the numbers are way off, it's likely that you have bent C's. You are running 37's...no clue if you gusseted your inner C's or not....If not, good chance you have bent c's so an alignment shop can possibly show you that with the camber number.

If so, the only way to adjuste your camber is with adjustable ball joints. Or swap out your Rubi 44 with a PR 44

Thanks mpkelly,
I'm not gusset'd. I'll get it checked out to see what my options are. If the c's aren't bent, I'll gusset them when its apart.
