There is no doubt in my mind that all of these winches are made in the same one, two or three factories in China that make the winches. I know there are a couple of ATV winches out there that are identicle to the Warn's on the inside and like you said, just different on the outside.

No sir.

Warn is now even making the controller in Oregon. it used to be the only part made in china.

David, I'll take your word for it.... But still find it hard to believe. I'm the proud owner of 2 of the most US made motorized means of transportation made in the United states of America ~ Harley Davidson motorcycles. And hate to admit it, and to this day have to argue the point parts are made over seas. Mostly the wires and electronics..

I'm willing to bet a few more parts on that Harley are actually made overseas And shipped in to be assembled here in the USA. I really don't think there is many products left that are fully manufactured and assembled in the USA anymore. Really a shame. Off topic sorry.

Hope I can find a good deal on a warn and a bumper come time to buy

I heard that warn was still made entirely in the US. I believe the tabor/warn is built in mexico. I guess they didn't have to go far to source the winch for my power wagon. I wonder where the wireless kits are made?

I'm sold!

Rough Country Rocks, all my Good lifts I had with my YJ were from them.

I know they don't build the winch, but I'll bet they found the best they could for that price!

Well I'll be damned, David is right (not that I doubted him since he deals with this stuff daily). Take a look at Warn's website, they have youtube videos from where Priate4x4.com visted and it shows how they make everything even the gears from raw stock. It is nice to see that they are made here in the U.S.A. but they are still so damn expensive. Here is the link. http://www.warn.com/index.shtml
