moving rear axle back/regaining wheel base
a semi-noob question. im trying to recenter my rear axle in the wheel well to regain the wheel base that i lost with my lift. will all 4 rear arms do this, or will i also need a new rear drive shaft?

One set of arms will 'tilt' the axle.
Two sets of arms lets you move the entire axle forward/backward in the wheel well. |
I would suggest you ask David at Northridge.
I thought I had read somewhere that when you order a new driveshaft you need to give them the measured length. I never understood how that worked since you wouldn't have alength to measure until the lift was installed. |
You need upper and lower ca's to move the rear axle and I would measure the Length of the shaft after you have the axle where you want it un the wheel well. Ask David at northridge or Visit the Tom woods shafts website and they have the shafts listed with the lengths for different set ups. Good luck!

depending on how much you move the axle back.
depending on how tall your coils are, they'll bow more, but you'll be further away from the pinch seam. |
thanks for the replies. just spoke to David and confirmed that i can regain some of the wheel base with arms only. i guess i will need the rotate the lower spring perch too or use wedges?
