Default muffler??

Im looking to replace the stock muffler with something a little smaller that doesnt hang down so far, or possible relocate it. Ive read that you need to relocate the evap skid to move the muffler, but Im not sure I want to do that, so maybe just a smaller muffler in the stock spot?? I dont want it loud or to sound like a fast and furious car, just looking to make it less of a target. I dont want to lose any power so Im not exactly sure how to pick a muffler.

Over been wanting to do this for a while but I'm scared of how it will sound. Every v6 I've heard sounds rivet with exhaust and mine is an auto so that worries me too with a constant exhaust note. I checked youtube but that's hard to gauge through a computer speaker.
