Default naked front bumper

just wanted to know if anybody else likes the looks of the stock JK bumper with the big piece of plastic removed. i have been trying to decide on a new bumper , but couldn't find what i wanted so i decided to build my own. i removed the plastic cover to get some measurements , and decided that the look was not too bad. cut off the crush cans , touch up with a rattle can , i like it ! now i'm not sure if i am going to build a new one or not.
i think i'll keep it this way for now , but i still have to figure out what to do with that big piece of plastic on the rear.

I've thought about doing the same thing and buy some other mods first. I think I would want to find a way to mount the fogs in the existing holes though.
Do you have any more pics, maybe a close-up?

You can use it as a floatation device for your boat.

I actually liked it a lot. The big drawback is that it's made of nothing. If it takes any kinda lick, it's toast. Believe it not, that hunk of ugly plastic DOES serve a purpose. It is actually part of the impact system and does absorb some of the impact. I actually thought about maybe copying the bumper frame from 1/4" channel, but I ended up with the Expedition One.

I did this in a couple of hours in my garage. I had gotten into a tree with the from passenger corner of my plastic cover on the front bumper and creased it. So, I decided to trash it! I actually hit a deer last week running 55 mph and did not affect the bumper at all. Good ole American steel!

I did the same thing but once I saw what was underneath and how flimsy it was, I eventually bought a new bumper. Not much for protection.

I didn't even get to this point. After seeing how easily a less than prudent person that I've wheeled with oocasionally mangled his stock bumper, I ordered a Shrockworks.

It would look intimidating in the mall parking lot!!!, but the trail will eat it up.
