Need a few opinions on gears.

I apologize for creating another gearing thread...I have read dozens and dozens of threads and looked at the charts and can't find a great answer (and/or I don't completely understand the chart).

Mostly what I read about are people running 33" or greater tires. I'm running 285/75r16's that measure exactly 32.25".

I have a 2011 JKU auto with 3.73's (30/44). This is a daily driver and at low elevation. Should I go 4.88 or 5.3?

Thanks!

Why regear? Are you running a tuner? That will help some. I think with those tires regearing is not necessary.

Just my opinion. I had a 2010 JKU auto with 3.73 gears, running 33s and a tuner. Had no issues.

I have a 2011 so there is not a tuner available yet. I use a Procal for basic things.

I want to re-gear because it runs like a dog on the highway unless I turn off the overdrive.

I'd recommend 4.88, that will wake it right up for ya.
If you plan on bigger tires in the near future 5.13
PM me if you need some one to install them

Your only looking at a couple hundred Rpm difference between what you had, and what you have now traveling at highway speeds . No need to re-gear, but if you must 4.10's

Then I would go with 4.88, that should be good all the way to 315/70, which is a little over 34s. I forgot 2011 never got a tuner. Good luck!!

So this I guess is where the chart confuses me...

Am I reading it wrong that 4.10 will take me to 2080 up from about 1900. But going to 4.88 will take me up to almost 2500.

I was under the impression that this would make a noticeable difference.

Thanks!

4.88's will make a noticeable difference. At the gas pump. Too much rpm for highway driving if this is your daily driver.

This is when a set of 4.56's would be great... if u can find them.

I'd put 5.13's in it.
