Default Need help with OME order.....

Ok I am going to order on monday the OME kit with track bars from Northridge.

Here is the question. I have ordered the Procomp 8128 17X8.5 5X5 4.75IN BS and 35 x 12.5 x 17 Goodyear MTR's

I know 4.5 backspacing is recommended but will 4.75 work? Or will I need to order spacers?

How about upper? lower? front? rear? contol arms?

Front drive shaft?

Brake lines?

Kind of on a limited budget so If I don't need something I wont get it...

What says the Forum on this?

Which OME kit are you looking at? (which spring rate) The higher you go, the more likely it is you'll want extra components...

Or just get the Long Travel kit, it has everything you need. You'll have to call him, since I don't believe it is listed on the website?

Here is an old thread for it, call and check if it is still available.

Same kit I have.

I bought:

Extended bumpstops (or you could chop your fenders)
New brake lines
Rear spring retainers
New sway bar links (with discos up front if you don't have a Rubi)
Upper front control arms to set caster (lowers will also work)

If you have an auto transmission, you'll either have to inlet your cross-member or get a new front driveshaft. Your rear driveshaft should be fine since you have an Unlimited.

I'd say that 4.75 BS should work with the Northridge sway bar links - I think that they take up less space on the "tire" side than the OEM ones. Do keep an eye on this though.

With OME HD's, I got 3.25" with a heavy bumper/winch.

At a minumum, you'll want:

Extended brakelines or brackets - (also see this thread about the extended lines from northridge stretching too tight. https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/modified-jk-tech-2/extended-brake-lines-issue-help-appreciated-107206/)

Extended front bumpstops - (if you have chopped/flat flares, you can go without extensions)

Since you are getting LT shocks - Spring retainers or at least throw some hose clamps on.

At some point, you'll want to look at:

Longer rear links, move the stock rears up front. (or adjustables)

A set of front adjustable CA's - upper or lower is your choice. (you can go without, but at 3+ inches, odds are good that you won't like the handling)

I am still running stock driveshafts, but I do have some scoring on the front from the crossmember. (see post #6 by MKJeep) https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/modified-jk-tech-2/driveshaft-vs-skid-plate-102041/

Sooo, get the basic kit and upgrade when you get around to it, or just start with the full LT kit.

Thanks I'll ask if they still offer that. Looks like a good deal.

Yep. Well thought out kit, wish it had been available when I got mine. Much better than buy, find out you need something else, buy, find out you need something else, buy, etc...
