so i found a really really really good deal on some 33 x 14.5 R16LT radial swampers and i want to know if it is possible to fit these on a jk with that tire width. Of course i need a 3 inch lift and aftermarket wheels, but what else? is that it? just dont think i can fit that width on the jk
For those tires I'd say that you'll want a 10" wide rim (or wider) with 4.5" of backspacing or less in order to keep the tires from rubbing on your frame, control arms and every other part within your wheel wells.

33x14.5 r16 with Pro Comp Xtreme Alloy Series 1069 16X10 5X5 4.5inchBS on a jk. possible?
found wheels for only $100 each too. not too bad for wheels.

Wanted to share my experience with Swamper radials in 33x 12.5 15" size on my 3" lifted Dakota.
First of all, the majority of the swamper's lives were spent on pavement. I kept them aired around 30psi.
I loved the look, the ride and drive, even the tread wear. They also were pretty darn quiet for how aggressive the tread pattern is. Worked excellent in the ice and snow and off road.
But there always seem to be a draw back right. If the majority of your driving is on the pavement, say highway speeds, I personally wouldn't get em.
Out of the 5 tires on the truck through rotation I had 2 radial carcases come apart. Right down the center of the tread block. At different times of course but the first time I thought it was a fluke went and got a replacement under warranty. But when it happened the second time, they came off the truck. Just so I am clear on this these were far from wore out tires. They had 85% of there tread or more.
Talked to the tire shop and found out it is a pretty common issue on that particular tire. They said the heat the tire builds on the Highway is to much for the radial carcass and they fail. It doesn't usually blow the tire to become flat as the rubber tread is quit thick. But it just lets the air enter through the radial belts and get in between the belts and tread rubber creating large bubbles in the surface tread resulting in a very not round tire. Not noticeable at speed until you slow down then you realize something is not right as you thump down the road. If they blew, which they never did, a tall tire like that at freeway speeds could have been disastrous.
Sorry for the bad review, but thats my experience with em.

I'll second the recommedation of not running swampers on the highway. I run some 36x13x16 TSL's offroad and they are great for that, but on-road they wouldn't hold up very long. Especially if you are at the highway speeds long enough to get the tires warm.
