Ditto. I run 285/70/17's on 4.5" back spacing and have no rubbing issues.

I rubbed a bit with a leveling kit, 305/65R17 tires on 17x9 rims with 4.5 backspacing.

Disconnected I actually broke off some plastic from a fender liner. **this was with no extended bumpstops.

If you are totally stock and a pavement pounder, should be ok.

You could run a 255/80R17 which is stock width but 33.3" tall. It will not rub with factory wheels as the width is the same as stock but it offers a higher profile for better clearance. Only 2 I know of is the BFG KM2 and the Cooper ST Maxx. I personally run the km2 and am very very happy with the tire. I do long for the wide tire look as it looks mean, but beside the skinny look that is the only downside.

Anything that rubs can usually be trimmed.
