new jeep

Hey I just purchased my first Jeep Its a 2007 Sahara unlimited Rescue Green soft top. Its awsome but I cant drive it yet as I broke my back in 5 places last month falling off my roof. Perfect time to buy it since I cant drivde HA Im planing on a 2.5 suspension lift I put a ruff country on my 2003 f250 so I was gonna put a ruff country on the jeep. I think im gonna put 15 inch black rims on 33 bfgs. Any thoughts? All I have is time now since i cant drive. The Jeep will replace a 1995 corvette which I cant get into-out of anymore. Thats forsale in my driveway. Thanks for reading any suggestions will be appreciated. Oh yea, the f250 is staying also. Thanks cool site Dave

congrats on the purchase. look around the site, theres a plethora of information floating around. i think you will find that a 2.5" lift is too high for 33s. you can fit 33s from the factory. i think that you will also find that most folks arent rough country friendly. i think mainly due to problems with the lift and components. also, some 15s wont fit and other 15s may require grinding of the brake calipers. 16s fit with ease. check out the sponsors area, discount tire direct has some 15s that look good and will fit.

I feel your pain. I crushed 3 verts about 4 years ago. Had the fusion, much better now. I bought my Jeep about a year or so after the surgery, and it doesn't cause any pain. Only suggestions from me, if you lift too high, you will have trouble getting your leg high enough to get in without tube steps. I have about a 3" lift and 32" tires, and it can be a stretch on cold days. I am gonna go to 35" tires soon, but I think I will put sliders with steps on then. Good luck, and the back pain eventually subsides. I was back at work in 7 weeks climbing ladders for the phone company.

Welcome to the site.... too bad about you're back man, went under the knife for mine in '98....
But you have time to check out what you want and have everything figured out before you get better... good luck....

Given that you are recovering from your accident, I would suggest that you start with a coil lift that is better know for its ride quality. The TF 2.5" coil falls into that category.

If you run a search, you will find plenty of complaints about the ride quality of RC coils. The price seems to be attractive but the ride and quality are questionable.

I wish a rapid and full recovery and welcome to Jeep community.

Since you have some time to decide what you want, start with browsing through these...

Those should bring up quite a few more questions. :D
