Default New to Jeeps need advice

I am new to owning a Jeep and I am trying to figure out why mine is shaking when I hit 30-40 mph especially 35 mph…. Replaced the front track bar cause my tires weren’t tracking correctly then they did an alignment, had to replace all 4 shocks because they were shot, had the casters adjusted due to a death wobble then had to have a front control arm relocation kit installed to finish correcting the death wobble/bump steer issue…. I have a lift and 33” tires…. Have even had my tires balanced/road forced (?) but still have the shaking. Not sure what I am overlooking.

The shaking I feel is only between 30 and 40 mph with the hardest shaking right at 35 mph. I feel it in the gas pedal and seat…. Hopefully someone can help me figure this out….

Thanks
Kate

Hi Kate. Welcome to JKF. Sorry you're having a lot of issues. There is typically a steep learning curve for new jeep owners when it comes to these issues.

I always focus on DW statements cuz it's the most serious thing. For starters, having correct caster won't cure real DW (sounds like you had some control arm brackets installed to correct caster). Are you talking this was wobbles so bad the steering wheel was shaking and you practically had to come to a stop to resolve it? DW is casted by bad joints and loose bolts with the most common culprits being bad trackbar joints/undertorqued bolts, and bad ball joints. Ball joints are a huge issue on these axles and I would suspect you likely have some bad ones. Now, not sure that is the root cause of what you currently have going on.....

Typically wobbles/vibes you feel in the steering wheel are font end/steering/tire related, and vibes you feel in your seat are driveline related. How much lift do you have? Do you have factory driveshaft up front? What is your current caster (do you have the spec sheet they should have given you)? Did this start pretty soon after they did the previous work? Most of this stuff will come done to simply geometry. You raise caster (which you did) by rotating the axle housing back, which then lowers the pinion which is coming out the back of the diff on the axle.....and that then impacts the driveshaft that is attached to it and which is running up to the transfer case which is mounted higher under your lifted jeep. I suspect maybe you are now having some driveshaft issues but we need to know what you have for your DS, how much lift you have, what your caster is, and realistically age and mileage of the jeep.

You gave me the direction to go that I needed thank you!!!
It was a drive shaft issue…. Took it in to a trusted tire/lift guy after your message and he checked it out for me then he took me out into the shop and showed me it had slop in it that it shouldn’t have…. He disconnected it had me drive it and there was no more shaking so we ordered the new one, got it installed and she handles the way she should. After this final piece to the death wobble, bump steer and shake repairs list lol…. Greatly appreciate you taking time to reply and help me….
