Default New Motor Time.. Need Some Help with what all would be involved with a SB 350 Swap

I decided that this is the way I would like to go.. Get away from all the electronics and have a Platform that is just about Unlimited in terms of Upgrades. I was thinking of Pairing with a Turbo 400 Tranny.. My question is does anyone have any knowledge as to what all would be involved.. How to get the Electronics to work.. Would I need a new transfer case? Its a 2013 JK Sport. Any and all help is Greatly Appreciated.

No one makes a kit to swap a SB Chevy into a JK and make all of the electronics still work. If you are dead set on this route, you will essentially have to make the engine standalone and hope that the rest of the electronics can get along without engine input but this is doubtful.

There are kits out there for LS swaps though that will allow you to integrate with all of the factory electronics.

I've looked into those kits and they are rather pricy lol.. trying to do this as cheap as possible.. I wonder if i was to just do Painless wiring and just rewire the Jeep and get it away from Canbus if that would work.. I have seen a thread somewhere where someone has done this before, but it never really went into detail on how he made it work. was just wondering if anyone could shed some light.

Check with Novak and Motech and Brusier Conversions on a Chevy JK conversion.

An engine swap is definitely not something to go "cheap" on. Engine swaps can go 2 ways.

1. Spend the money on the right parts and things go relatively effortlessly
2. Spend very little money and the installer has to fight their way through every obstacle.

Why are you planning to replace the engine on a 2013 if you're worried about budget?

x2. Talk to the people doing these conversions and find out why they chose to do it the way they are, instead of the way you are wanting to do it. Maybe they can point out the gotcha's you aren't seeing.

Are you doing this yourself or looking for a shop install for it?

Because I've ingested dirt into the motor.. it's going to need a new one and figured if im gonna have to yank this one out, why not put something in that has a lot more upgradeable options with a lot less headaches.. I am no where near impressed with the Pentastar POS. 2nd vehicle with it and the first one gave me nothing but problems.. This will be something me and a few buddies will do.. I found a post before but can't seem to find it now in which they were successful in a sb 350 with turbo 400.. that would be a sweet setup and rather affordable in my opinion.. I have access to both for $700. Just curious on what all we would need to do to make it work.

Do you live anywhere where there are emissions testings you have to go through? That would be a big problem for a SBC. Like others have said I would recommend against it 100% and thats because I'm normally the one to want to put a SBC in anything lol
