Default New possible idea

So here is the deal, I spoke with Tuffy with regards to the possibility of a new product. I had the idea that I wanted a secure solution to the trunk on the JK. I figured it would be inexpensive and secure to basically purchase the tuffy drawer without the drawer. However the lid falls short of the tailgate by about 6 inches. Therefore I asked if they could design a product that would have the exterior walls of the tuffy drawer (140) but a longer lid which would cover all the way to the back. In essence it would be similar to an add a trunk but in steel. This would need to be a custom order (they said they might just keep the design if it goes well) so I need atleast 10 people who are interested. The cost would be less than the drawer since you are saving the cost of the steal and components that make the drawer. Let me know

Dan

Well, I would have been in for it, thats what I was trying to build out of Diamond Tread alum....

however, doing 1 out of diamond tread alum, vs just buying the drawer... I went ahead and bought the drawer.

Let them know, that I would have bought the cover/shelf idea... but I already bought the drawer.

for talking them into the idea... I guess I should have attempted to call them on that.

How much cheaper would it be? There are two on the Tuffy site. Are you talking about the non plated one?

Why not just get a Bestop instatrunk?

I am talking about a modified version of 140 the tuffy drawer. Basically the lid would be extended to the trunk so that the door would lock the compartment. It would be made out of the steel (or steal depening on my incompetence at the moment) so it would be much safer then all the other options such as the insta trunk, flexa trunk etc... In terms of price I would need to find out if there are enough interested before they will consider designing it and getting a price.

If you have any question let me know.

OK, so its basically like a bed cover for a pickup truck... if its for a 2dr I'm in. I was going to build one myself actually but a nice steel one I'd be interested in purchasing.

If I could have something custom ordered, I'd have a cover for the 2dr rear area that secures it with the door made that also has tie downs on top and a rubber non-slip mat both for the bottom area that form fits including the storage tub, as well as on top. That way you could put tools and such in the bottom area and tie down camping gear on top.
