New rims and allignment issue?
 

I had the stock Rubicon BFG 32 inch tires mounted on new Black Rock 997 steel wheels. I noticed that the jeep is now pulling a bit to the right side. The rims replaced the stock Moabs and has 4.50 backspacing. The guy at the tire shop said that one mounted and balanced very easily, but the other four were about "average" as far as mounting. Has anybody ever encountered this before? Can an increase in the track width, or the increased lever on the bearing effect the alignment? I expected a rougher ride, but was surprised by the consistent pull.

Just took my tires off the stock rims and installed/balanced on new Black Rock 17's with a 4.5" backspacing and I had some problems getting the rims to get just the right amount of balance without having to weigh them down too much. I have not noticed any issues with the alignment though.

Width of the rims was correct. I was wondering about the crown of the road too. Glad somebody else suggested it. Did not notice it with the Moabs, but these are steel. Could be I'm just picking up on the drift with the crown because I can feel more impact from the road transmitted to the frame through the longer lever and the heavier rims.

Is your Jeep lifted? If it is 3" or higher you need to check your caster.

Nope. No lift. I do wonder if moving the wheel closer to the center of the rim effected the alignment though.
