My rig

2010 jeep jk sport with a 6 speed manual
4.88 gears with a rear e locker.
Currently Dana 30/44
I have 35" tires
Flat flares
Currently 3.5" lift with currie rear uppers and front lowers and bilstien 5100 shocks.

Goal. Build a badass rig that all will envy lol

Trails I like to run are usually rocky and woodsy
My question is what is the advantage of long arm vs short arm. And what do I gain by going to cool overs? I can get a decent long arm kit for about 3000. With the height I want where coil overs are going to run a fair amount more is it worth it or is the long arm even worth it am I better off buying the rest of my short arms and going with bigger springs. In the end I only need 4.5" of lift and I'm only going to a 37" tire.

I have nothing positive to contribute but sounds like a good set up, I am having 4.88s installed right now. I plan on running 37" tires for lift I have AEV 2.5 and 1"Body. When/if I got 37"s I might add a spacer to the AEV coils.

I asked these same questions a while back. The long arm appearantly only corrects all the screwed up geometry of the suspension after lifting. Coil overs will let u blast down a dirt road at 60mph and not worry about bumps.... Hell u can just me shit with them. I wanna go back to long control arms.... Everyone will tell u that the long arm does nothing for ur flex but I still say it does.... My 2010 JKU Sahara had more flex than my current 2010 JKUR. The Sahara had a 4c rancho long arm suspension and 37"km2s my rubi has a 4" Skyjacker coil lift with factory control arms and I NEVER discoed my Sahara and it has more flex than my rubi disconnected..... I say long arm equals longer wheel travel.

**DISCLAIMER** This is MY opinion

Hope some of this helps u
