Nitto Mud Grapplers
Im posted a similar thread before but Ive change a few things about what Im looking at and I want some opinions. I am getting 35 inch nittos and some pro comp 7005s. I am getting the backspacing as well. What kind of lift would you guys recommend. I havent put a lift on a JK yet and I have an 07 Rubicon. Im looking for something under 800 850 for shocks, springs, and trackbars. Id love to hear from the guys that have the Nittos.
I think most would recommend at least a 3" suspension lift for 35" tires. The Black Diamond 3" is a pretty complete kit. It comes with the following:
- Lift via pre-set coil springs; different rated coils
- New Urethane travel-stops prevent suspension over-compression
- Adjustable front track bar; relocation bracket for rear bar
- Alignment cams correct caster angle
- Longer, greasable factory-style sway bar links
- Longer AT Series shocks improve control and provide full extension travel
$700 from Northridge. Give David a call or shoot him a PM.

I've heard mixed reviews about Mud Grapplers. Here's a sampling of some of the complaints: 1) they are NOISY, 2) they ride terribly on the highway, 3) the treadlife sucks for the price, and 4) they get really hot and the pressure goes up about 15 PSI on long trips.
Personally I think Mud Grapplers are more for show trucks than anything. I also think they're kinda ugly.
If you get five of them you're going to spend over $1400 when all is said and done. That's a lot of money for rubber, but if you like 'em that's all that matters.

I have 35" Mud Grapplers. I am running a 2.5" Skyjacker lift with a 3/4" front spacer. I also have a 1"MORE Body Lift. However, I ran just the skyjacker lift for over 10,000miles of trails and highways with no problems of rubbing.
Also, as mean as the Mud Grapplers look on "show trucks", they are just as mean in the mud or on the trail. They have taken me everywhere I pointed them, including deep mud, jagged rocks, laying on my side in a rut from hell they brought me out no problem. I have almost 20,000 miles on mine and expect to get another 15k or so. The wear has been outstanding. Really good highway manners and super easy to balance. When they wear out I will replace them with the same.
As for the noise, you get used to it. I kinda like it, no one mistakenly merges into your lane.

when I wear out these 35"MTR's I plan on trying some Nittos. I have a Tera 2.5" with Xenon Narrow flares and haven't rubbed at full flex.. Got lift and flares from Dave at Northridge for under $800
