Default Nitto Ridge Grappler Review

I'm running the all new Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 37x12.50x17 and wanted to provide an initial review. I will update the thread so everyone will know how the tires perform over time. Feel free to post up your thoughts and experiences as well. Let's post plenty of pictures too!!

Overall, I am impressed with the tire. It works flawless at the beach and is very quiet on road. I should be heading to Uwharrie soon and will test them in the rocks. I aged out of mud, so I will leave that to someone else.

Tire height is 36.5" off the ground and 35.5" on the ground at 32 lbs pressure.

Let's here your thoughts!!

These decals are evil... better remove them before hitting the road, or you will get a nasty sound rolling down the road (ask me how I know).

Here's a pic showing the Toyo Open Country RTs vs. the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. The tires are both 37x12.50.17 but according to everyone that saw them both on claim the Grapplers are bigger. I didn't measure them, but can.

I'm grateful to have a son that mounted, balanced and installed my tires. Not one tire required a wheel weight. These babies ride smooth!!

Tires installed on new wheels and upgraded Rubicon decals as the old ones were peeling and apparently the fuel mileage thing was a myth!! Yes, my American Flag is incorrect. I since removed it. USA!!

Apparently I picked up a nasty bolt, or I like to say, "the tires kryptonite", most likely at the carwash getting ready for the show and shine. Lesson, don't wash Jeep, don't get flats!!

That's a good looking tire and nice to see nitto keeping them fairly true to size.

Thanks for doing the research.
You said the Toyo's were RT, did you mean to say MT?

Nope! I meant RTs. These are slightly more aggressive than an Alll-Terrain and slightly less agressive than a mud tire. It's Toyo's version of the Hybrid tire. I only had 17K miles on them when I switched and they were holding up well. I also ran them in the snow, sand and rocks with no problems.

FYI... Nitto Ridge Grapplers vs. Toyo Open Country RTs:

Both are good tires. I consider them both to be a hybrid (cross between All-Terrrain and Mud Tire). I rode the RTs for about 18K miles and they are wearing evenly and make very little noise as expected. I was totally satisfied with this tire. I am now riding on the Ridge Grapplers (~2K miles) and they are also quiet and handle well. I recommend both tires, however, knowing what I know and my driving habits and the tire aesthetics, I would select the Ridge Grapplers over the RTs without a second thought.
