Yes, you will still need it because a regear will affect your speedo, and often does the other way, as in your speedo and odometer read too high.

Will going from the stock 255/70R18 to a 33" tire make that much difference? Enough for me to notice or to mess up shift points?

Default Speedometer / odometer cal

I took my new JKU back to the dealer today to reprogram my speedometer and odometer. I have a dealer installed ProComp 2.5" lift and ProComp 315/70 R-17 tires. They told me the largest tire size their programer has is 245/75 R-17. I asked about a speedometer / odometer programer and I was told that could void my warranty. I'm not sure if thats true but i am going to check into that. Anyone have any knowledge about that?

A regear will have no effect on the JK speedometer or the odometer.
Speed and distance information comes from the ABS sensors on each wheel.

Programming the tire size with a ProCal won't void your warranty unless you tell them you did it and they decide it's grounds to void.
I always set everything back to stock before I visit the dealer.

I would have laughed in their face.

They can't legally void your warranty for any mod. They can only deny claims that they prove were caused by a mod...

The dealership I bought from is mod friendly, I leave my Procal in glovebox in case they need to use it .....

That is odd that their programmer has a maximum size that is smaller that the JKUR tires (255/75 R17).
