OEM Tire Carrier
Well then, first off... the sheet metal somewhat buckling around the tailgate handle is normal. Mine does that too. Unfortunately, as great as the JK is the sheet metal is way too thin in my opinion; at least compared to my old TJ or my friend's YJ. Aside from that, check to see if your tire carrier has any cracks underneath. If so, get a new stock tire carrier. Otherwise, if you have the money to spare and would like to tackle a fun project that looks pretty slick in the end then purchase the Or-fab tire carrier as everyone has already state. I personally would get the one that holds the jerry cans. But I also do long trips that require extra fuel in order for me to make it back home.
I wouldn't do the MBRP tailgate reinforcing brackets just yet. I'm fairly confident that your spot welds are still a-okay considering you're only running 33's on stock wheels that are still sitting nicely on the rubber bump stops.
