Default Old Man Emu Question

I am going to purchase an OME kit for my Rubicon. I plan on getting the HD springs. With this, will it change the ride using the HD springs or are they just to help for eliminating sag. Does it make the ride rougher or stiffer?

I have the MD springs, rides better than stock, alot softer. I would think the HD springs would be the same to slightly softer than stock. What I did notice when I put mine on was that the shocks were alot softer than the stock shocks. I think this was the real reason it rides better.

After installing this kit did you have any problems with the esp? With a softer ride did it effect it?

Yes, some problems with esp, i don't think it was an effect of the softer ride. I centered the steering wheel and it it got better but not toally gone. After driving it for about two weeks it was near totally gone.--I do think the computer learns--my wife thinks I'm crazy when I suggest this. not bad at all and I live in the mountains with a lot of curves.
I'm running 33's.

Did you install it yourself? If so, was it pretty easy to do? I have looked over the install on project JK and it seems pretty straight forward. I'm not a mechanic, but I am pretty good with tools and I have help from a friend. Could you give me a estimate on how long it took to install?

You should not have any issues with ESp at all. If you do the steering wheel is off a bit.

I installed it myself, Piece of cake!
In regards to Northridge 4x4 comment, Yes steering wheel centering is critical, the problem is there is some slop in the JK steering that makes it difficult to get it perfect. No problems in the last several mos though, and only minor problems at that in the beginning. Like I said, i live in the mountains and i was only able go get the esp to fire on real tight curves when pushing it really hard.

Thanks for the advice. Maybe we will meet on the trail someday.

I'm planning on running 33x12.50.'s also. how much actual lift did you get from those springs. PICS?
