OME 3" lift
Yep. Pumped them rigorously, as if trying to bring the life back into it! LOL. It would fall out slowly but push in really really easily. It fell out when you held it right side up.
I've been using OME for years and installed them on more rigs than I care to remember. Definitly the first ever ever heard of an out of the box failure.
I've bent one backing into a rock in the Isuzu blown one jumping my XJ and even managed to wear a front set out after 5 years of really hard use in the 4Runner but never heard of a new one bieng bad.
Glad you got it worked out. Post up some before and after lift pics if you have time.
THATS WHAT IM TALKIN ABOUT!!!!AMEN BROTHER!!!!!
David, thats how ARB should have handled it.

Remember all they asked you for was a picture of the shock.
David
Besides, if they wanted a pic of a compressed shock, just look on the web. Here's one . Seriously, they were being asses. Especially if, as you stated, they had already sent out the replacement shock when you called - before a pic was sent.
I have heard MANY good things about you, and some good things about them. BUT, I completely understand the frustration of the OP.
I think it speaks volumes to your character when you come on the forum and solve problems so quickly. I am positive that your phone call helped the OP immensely.
Thanks for the kind words .
You really could not imagine how many calls we get everyday about how there is a problem with something and they want a part sent out next day air. The after talking with them and getting pictures back we discover they are installing it wrong or something like that.
Business would go broke shipping out parts without comfirming if there is a problem. It only takes a few minutes to comfirm what the deal is and it is done.
Now sometimes it is the exact opposite and there is a problem and we do ship the part out the same day without questioning it.
In a perfect world everything would be perfect and we wouldnt even have to worry about these kind of things

I think this is most likely a good example of what happens on most of these "Complaint" threads. Something goes wrong and the person is upset, rightfuly so, and either misstates or exagerates the problem. I have not seen one vendor on this site not at least try to take care of the customer. I know for fact that David has stepped up to the plate for many people on here. Great to see he has kept his record in tact.
Yea, and more evidence that people are not very good at communicating when they have a problem. I like to be reasonable. I decide what is acceptable to me, and what is not as a solution. Then I pick up the phone and try for a resolution on my acceptable list. If they agree to an acceptable solution I tell them it was acceptable and let them attempt to execute the plan. If they won't agree I tell them it is not acceptable.
As an example, I had missing parts from my lift (not OME). I offered to pay for fast shipping to get the missing parts, but I wanted them shipped the next business day. The manufacture agreed to this plan and pulled it off (David was involved).
If you didn't want to send a picture you should not have agreed to send one, plain and simple. Did you ask ARB and David to send out a new shock right away? If not then there is no surprise that someone conjured up another plan. Even worse you agreed.
Too many people just expect customer service you guess what they want, and then get upset when another person got a resolution another way.

If there is one thing that should make you happy; it is that you did not install the springs before you noticed the bad shock.
Sorry to hear about your mishap; good to hear it all worked out. post some pics when you get it installed.
