Pinch Welds?
 

I've read on previous post about people having to cut the pinch welds back so they didn't cut the tire at full flex. Is this what we're talking about?

These look alittle close to me.....opinions?

What the easiet way to cut them without causing too much damage?

I can't see your picture for some reason, but typically the pinch weld referenced by people is on the front side of the rear tires. You can cut if want to (just be careful not to cut too much) or you can bend it in with a BFH. :thumbsup:

Also, remember that as your axle travels up it also travels back. So, depending on your setup, what may look like a potential rubbing problem may in fact not be an issue as the axle articulates up and back.

I can't see your attachment/picture either - it says invalid link. Here's a picture of the pinch weld cut on my JK - right behind the Rubi Rock Rails (which, by the way, I also had to trim off around 4in off the ends).

I cut mine with a grinder and it took about 5 minutes to do both sides.... Dont forget to put some paint on the bare metal when your done

Its a 2010, maybe I'll be better off bending it with a BFH then cutting it. I guess I may just have to flex it and take a look from underneath.

Did mine last night. Took the tires off to make it easier. I used Rustoleum paint to help keep it from rusting.

with 315's, you'll most likely rub on it a bit. personally, i would cut it as it gives you a cleaner finished look. the BFH can leave the seam looking like it got hit by a BFH and in some cases, won't fix the problem. so you know, i have cleanly hacked off these corners with a hacksaw in about 5 min before.

You can cut or bend them 50 different ways without really screwing them up but like (Bweld) said make sure to spray them afterwards with some paint or bedliner spray to keep any rust from building up on the bent or raw metal surfaces.

Just finished cutting mine still have to seal em up.
