Pins missing in JKS Quick Disconnects
So I knew it was bound to happen, just not this soon. I teach at a high school and one of my students came up to me and said she saw other students around and under my jeep. I just finished my lift and tires a few weeks ago. She was worried I would get hurt driving home if they did something. Sure enough, the quick disconnect pins (JKS) were missing. In order to avoid this again, does anyone have any ideas of what I can put in there that would require at least maybe a set of pliers to remove? Heavy duty Cotter pin? Maybe just a piece of bent 1/8” rod? I would hate to have this happen again and get on the freeway at 70mph. Thanks for the help. I hate posting or reading posts on jeep theft.
What little bastards. Does your school have cameras in the parking lots? I know ours did. I would make sure they get punished real good, Possibly some police action. I hate it when i hear of someones ride getting messed with.
that blows. I agree use some bolts, and grease them up. If that doesn't work get someone in voca. department to rig up something to spray the bastards with dye if it is removed. If you need some ideas, I will gladly draw you some up!
Call the boys at JKS directly, they'll help you out and I'd be surprised if they didn't do it for free. Right here in Cornhusker land, great customer service and product line.

Hey thanks for the quick responses everyone. No cameras in the parking lot yet but they are doing that this summer. I like the nut and bolt idea
was kinda thinking that too but just wanted to hear some others. Grease would be great or some kind of explosion dye like they use for $$$$ bags!!! Ill contact JKS and get some new pins too for when I know i'll be wheelin. I'll get those damn kids! If it's the last thing I do!

Most likely they are not bringing tools with them. Then when you go off road just take the bolt and nut off. I also like the idea of smearing grease on there.
