Popping sound when I turn...
Ok here is the deal, I took my 35s off because I had to go on an extended job assignment 1300 miles from home. 250 miles from home I get the the death wobble ride from hell, found a jeep dealer who replaced the steering stablizer under warranty (even though i have a 4'' BDS lift). All is good right? Wrong now the rear is making a loud popping sound, only when I turn right. i checked the lugs on all 4 wheels checked for any loose bolt or nuts, all are tight. Any ideas?

my JK just started making a popping sound when I turn to the right....I'm not sure what it is either.....it almost sounds like it is coming from the hard top or door area?
I couldn't find anything loose on mine either. |
Do you have a locker or traction aide in the rear?

I'm wondering if the popping is coming from the track bar relo bracket hardware rubbing against the rear spring. On a turn it may be hitting and then the pop is when it releases. This was happening to mine when I found the problem.

Well got it back from the dealer today, turns out the factory wheel and the swaybar link on the back were making contact during cornering causing the pop. They suggested putting my old wheels back on or getting spacers to fix it.
