Portable Air Compressor Opinions

Any opinions or tie breakers among these: Superflow MV-90 (~$150), Viair 400P (~$190) or Viair 400P Automatic (~$222). Thanks

I have a viar 450p that I used for three months it was great, filled up fast and didn't get hot

Then I added lockers and I got the ARB compressor under my hood with an airline that runs to my grill

MV50 for 75 dollars. Works great. Use it more than my ARB High Output OBA.

I have a 400P and would get another in a heartbeat. I use it all the time and it pumps 4 35's up from 10psi to 30psi very quickly.

Can you guys give an honest review? Some pictures of it? Can it run a 3/8 gun? How fast to air up 35s?

Yes it can run air tools...duty cycle is all day. 10psi to 30 psi in 40 seconds or so on 35s. They can be found for around $200. Drawback is it is not as compact as others. They are not marketed to the off road community so many arent familiar with it. If you just needed to air up occasionally and you arent in a hurry a Superflow would suit you. Hope that helps.

looks like it would be a good one to mount permanently in the back of a 4 door. One thing I wish the 400P had was a tank.

As was stated it is not as compact as some of the others but that's because it also has the air tank mounted to it. It's still a small compressor so when you say air tools it would be limited use meaning you are not running a body saw off it but you could do a ratchet intermittently. I don't really see a need to run air tools from my jeep. Hand tools does it all and takes up less space and are lighter. If I wanted to run air tools for some unknown reason I would buy a real compressor and run 120v from the RV.

I have never timed mine to be honest but in comparing airing up at a gas station I have always felt this was as fast and in some cases faster. What I did with mine is took a pair of jumper cables cut the clamps off one end and wired it to the compressor so it is truly portable. I am happy with it for sure.
