Default preparing for deep water crossings

is there a write up on waterproofing the JK for deep water crossings? are there any electronics than need to be sealed, what components have breathers that need to be extended and how should it be done? thanks for your input.

I'm curious do you enjoy deep water crossings or is this a "just in case" sort of thing?

Better to find out before what just happened to me.

I would put a link, but can't on my iPad. I just started a thread in the Electrical section. Subscribing (a little late it seems)

Any advice on this? And for me, I enjoy deep water crossings, can't back down from the challenge. I have a snorkel and carpet is removed, what else needs to be done?

Extend your diiferentials, tranny and transfer case breathers. There are a few threads on how to do this in the write ups section.

Also, if you have a Rubi, put some dielectric grease on the sway bar e-disco connectors.

there are so many electrical components in the JK, it becomes a question around duration as well.

I went through the entire Jeep and put dielectric grease on all connections. Apply a rubber foam weather strip around the mating surface of the air box ( it does not keep out water ). Take the entire snorkel assembly with air box attached and submerge in a garbage can filled with water to make sure it is completely water proof. I have had my Jeep under water to the wipers and have had no issues.
